For Kiam Kiam, mango provides the Philippine foundation of the product. It is familiar, recognizable and deeply connected to the food culture around us. But we didn't want to stop at familiar. We wanted to see where it could go. We carefully prepare the mango for the soft and consistent chew we want in every Kiam Kiam Mango Bite. That's the product detail that matters to us: flavor, texture and consistency.
We don't want to make claims about a particular processing technique unless the production specification confirms it. The idea can be reduced to something simple: Philippine mango plus distinctive plum flavor becomes Kiam Kiam Mango Bites. The product is not simply about one ingredient. It is about the relationship between them.
The plum connection comes from founder Jon Dee's childhood. The mango connection comes from the Philippines. Together, they create a product that reflects both sides of the idea behind Kiam Kiam. Kiam Kiam is made in small batches with an artisanal approach. That gives us the opportunity to pay close attention to flavor, texture and consistency. We're not trying to become everything to everyone. We're trying to make something we're proud of.
